Health Guarantee

All kittens purchased from our website are covered by a minimum 1 year health guarantee from the pet breeder. If you have any questions about what is covered, please consult your state’s associated law.

Within ten days of purchasing your new pet, you must take your pet to a licensed veterinarian for an examination. If the veterinarian determines, within ten days of purchase, that your cat is clinically ill or has died from an injury sustained or disease likely to have been contracted on or before the date of sale and delivery, you have the following options:

Return the cat for a full refund. Return the cat for a replacement cat of equal value. Keep the cat and receive reimbursement for reasonable veterinary expenses, not to exceed the purchase price. These options do not apply when a seller, who has provided a health certificate issued by a veterinarian, discloses in writing at the time of sale the health problem for which the buyer subsequently seeks to return the animal. If within 30 days of purchase, a licensed veterinarian determines that your cat has a congenital or hereditary defect that adversely affects the health of the animal or that your cat died from a congenital or hereditary defect, you have the same option as described above.

You must notify the seller of the name, address, and telephone number of the examining veterinarian within two days of the veterinarian certifying your pet’s illness. Failure to notify the seller within two business days will result in loss of rights. Each state has different laws regarding the sale of a kitten; please research the laws of the state in which you are purchasing your kitten.

Each state has different guidelines regarding the health guarantee for kittens sold. For states that do not have a mandatory health guarantee in place, any breeder advertising through our site is required to cover the health of their kittens for at least 30 days. In the event that a state guideline is in place offering a guarantee longer than 30 days, that law shall prevail.

Some breeders offer extended warranties on their kittens. It is not legal for a breeder to offer a health guarantee that is not at least equal to state law. For a more detailed description of extended genetic health guarantees, read below.

Extended genetic health benefits (where offered)

An additional guarantee specifically covers any disease or condition whose genetic origin is proven by appropriate veterinary examination and testing.

These guarantees do not cover normal veterinary expenses incurred in providing general care to the kitten. Proper documentation must be provided to the breeder before any compensation is paid. This guarantee does not cover expenses incurred in connection with injuries caused by the owner’s negligence or accidental injury.
